Central Library
Central library including the amphitheatre was constructed in an area of 5500 square meters. The circular sight of the building colored in white and turquoise reminds the Iranian traditional architecture. At present, central library provides the academic members and students of the university with significant facilities such as Persian and non-Persian books, Internet, audio-visual resources and journals.
Central library is consisted of the following divisions:
The latest statistics of library resources registered at the end of the year of 2006 are as follows:
- Persian books: 57080 copies
- Reference books of basic sciences: 4289 copies
- Reference books of Humanities: 15799 copies
- Non-Persian books: 26254 copies
- Non-Persian reference books of basic sciences: 3192 copies
- Non-Persian reference books of Humanities: 7588 copies
- Persian journals: 220 titles
- CDs: 1450 titles
- CDs at Master degree: 600 titles
- Diskettes: 229 titles
- Video cassettes: 171 titles
- Slides, pictures and maps: 197 titles
- Projects and theses: 1313 titles
- Data banks: 46 titles
- Books published by Payame Noor University Press: 1050 titles
· Journal Division
This division tends to expand journals of basic sciences and humanities fields in subject order. At present, the users access to articles published in the journals through indexes CDs. Meanwhile, users are provided with theses and research projects at this division.
· Audio-Visual Division
This division provides users with electronic materials such as CDs, Diskettes, films and cassettes. In the case that only one resource is available, the user can access to it exclusively at this division. It is noteworthy to say that the membership at this division is solely open to the academic members and students of Tehran provincial center and its study centers and campuses.
· Electronic Reference Library (Intranet)
Central library is equipped with the network of electronic reference library in the Intranet form. This library is capable to provide more than 600 CDs simultaneously with no user limitation.
· Digital Library (Under Network)
Setting up the project of digital library is at its final process. This library enables the users to access to different resources by their personal computers.
· Information Division
This division provides users with free services by allocating 5 Internet clients.
